History of the Meet |
|
This meet,
formerly known as the Amish Invitational, was changed in March of
2001 to the Katie Baldwin Invitational. The change was made to
honor a former Prestige gymnast who passed away suddenly in November
of 2000 while she was a student and full scholarship gymnast at The
University of New Hampshire.
Katie was an
exceptional student-athlete both in high school and college.
At The University of New Hampshire, Katie was a Pre-Med Major with a
3.82 GPA. Katie is remembered here at Prestige for her smile,
her laugh, and her unconditional team spirit. Our meet name,
as well as different aspects of this competition, have been changed
to reflect the impact that Katie had on our lives here at Prestige.
The University
of New Hampshire has established a scholarship fund in Katie's name.
